3. REDUCE SUGAR.

Reducing sugar intake can have a positive impact on mental and physical health. High sugar consumption can lead to fluctuations in blood sugar levels which can cause mood swings, fatigue, and anxiety. By reducing sugar intake, individuals can stabilise their blood sugar levels and experience more consistent energy levels and a more stable mood. It can also lead to better quality sleep, which is crucial for mental health. Overall, reducing sugar intake can be a simple yet effective way to improve overall wellbeing.

Satisfy your sweet tooth with natural sugar from fruits or natural sugars such as honey, coconut sugar, stevia and xylitol.

4. EAT YOUR GREENS.

Eating green vegetables isn't just good for your physical health, but it can also have a positive impact on your mental well-being. Studies have shown that consuming leafy greens, such as spinach and kale, can improve brain function and reduce the risk of cognitive decline. These vegetables are also rich in folate, which is essential for the production of serotonin and dopamine, neurotransmitters that play a crucial role in regulating mood and reducing feelings of anxiety and depression. So, next time you're considering skipping the salad, remember that it's not just good for your body, but it can also benefit your mind.

If you find it difficult to get as many greens in as you'd like, there are also superfood supplements which can help!

5. EXERCISE.

Whether it’s a brisk walk in the park or a gentle cycle ride, filling your lungs with oxygen and staying active, dramatically improves your wellbeing. Of course exercise will improve physical health, but it can also have many benefits for your mental health too! Physical activity can improve mood, reduce stress and give you that much needed energy boost.

6. REDUCE STRESS.

And finally be gentle on yourself. Stressing about what you have and haven’t been able to achieve today, tomorrow and next week is not a healthy space to occupy!

Stress is something we have all come across at some stage and can affect people differently. Try different methods to deal with your stress, like journalling, meditating or taking some time for some self-care. Reducing stress in our lives can improve sleep and elevate mood, sounds good to me!
