In the 1990s it became very apparent there was a need for a totally different bacteria formula which could withstand the volatile pH conditions of the gastrointestinal tract. Symprove Ltd was established in 2002 following the launch of an extensive R&D programme. The R&D function continues to be the lifeblood of the company. Following extensive research, a range of independent testing, as well as meeting the challenges of all the regulatory bodies, the company started selling Symprove in autumn 2008.
