Robusta Health detox enema coffee is used exclusively by the Gerson Health Centre in Europe and by numerous clinics and health care practitioners across Europe.

We use only CERTIFIED ORGANIC robusta coffee in our detox coffee. Certified organic means the coffee is in its natural state and has not been sprayed with any herbicides or pesticides that could get into your body. You don’t want that and neither do we! Nothing has been added, it is 100% natural.

Another reason for certified organic is because coffee growers don’t spend all the time and money necessary to become certified just so they can grow low quality coffee. No, they grow high quality coffee so they can recoup their investment. Yes, the fact that the coffee is certified organic gives you a built in guarantee of quality.

This is important because quality coffee has more caffeine and palmitic acid content, the key detoxifying components in enema coffee.

We use a cast iron drum roaster. This is old technology. A cast iron roaster has a much higher operating cost than other types of roasters. It also costs more to build. And it costs more to ship since it weighs twice as much (or more) as a comparable steel drum or hot air roaster

Now why would we want to saddle ourselves with higher operating costs? The simple answer is, you get a better product. The cast iron roasting drum, once it is heated-up, bathes the coffee beans in a soft, even, gentle heat. It is also very controllable which means we can have l-o-n-g-e-r roasts which further develop and enhance the caffeine and palmitic acid content of the enema coffee.

Brewing Instructions for One Detox Coffee Enema

Place in saucepan:

  • 3 rounded tablespoons* Robusta Health coffee grounds
  • 1 litre distilled/pure water

Boil vigorously 3 minutes uncovered; then cover, lower heat and simmer an additional 15 minutes

Strain and allow to cool (do not use a paper filter to strain the coffee as it traps a lot of the good chemicals and doesn’t let them pass through into the enema solution, we recommend you strain through a fine stainless steel sieve or cheesecloth)

Add distilled/pure water to make a full litre

Use at body temperature

Discard any unused portion

*3 tablespoons is the default amount but everyone is different so each person should adjust the amount of coffee for their best results. One caffeine sensitive customer says she uses 1 TEAspoon of coffee in her enema solution, some tell us they use MORE than 3 TABLEspoons. Consult your health care provider for the best guidance on using the right amount of coffee for your physiology.

Yes, you need to strain it.

Some companies sell instant (water soluble) coffee for detoxing but please see the article on our website about the problems you can run into when using instant coffee.

Most folks brew the coffee and then let it cool to at least body temperature. Next they pour it into a clean vessel, straining it through a very fine sieve or muslin cloth while doing so.

If you don’t strain the coffee the coffee residue can collect at the bottom of your enema bucket/bag and clog the hole where the enema hose fits. Also don’t use a paper filter as it can trap important ingredients like palmitic acid, ingredients you need for a thorough detox.

Yes, the coffee is light roasted.

It is purpose roasted so that it preserves all the chemicals so important in the detox process. Unlike drinking coffee which is light to very dark brown, Robusta Health coffee is golden/tan in color.

This is a natural product and there can be slight variations in color from batch to batch

Actually there are several certifications involved. First the LACON Institut certifies that the crop is organically grown. They issue their certificates in accord with the LACON Organic Standard which is equivalent with the provision of Regulation (EC) Nr. 834/2007 and Regulation (EC) 889/2008 for operators in non-EU countries.

Then the importer of the coffee is certified by GfRS as an importer that is qualified to properly handle and care for organic crops.

We should also state that the laws governing all these certifications are very strict and there are stiff monetary penalties for those who try and pass off something as organic that is not. It is in the grower’s and importer’s best interest to make sure that what they claim to be organic, IS organic.

Finally, Robusta Health certified to handle and process organic crops by the Irish Organic Trust. The Organic Trust renews our certification yearly upon our successfully passing a rigorous inspection process.
