What supplements I took during my pregnancy

Posted by Marie-Eve Maitland on 24th Sep 2014

Finding out you are pregnant raises quite a few questions and as I’ve been working in the health & wellbeing industry for the last 5 years I knew nutrition and what supplements were safe for me and my baby was definitively going to be on the list.

Check out our range or prenatal and pregnancy supplements and vitamins here...

First of all, when you are at the early stages of pregnancy, you need to make sure you are eating the best possible foods and even more so if you are suffering from morning sickness. I was already eating very well and took daily supplements before I found out about the pregnancy.

Here is what I took before:

  • 1 serving of Omegas
  • 2-3 capsules Bio Kult Pro Cyan
  • 1 serving of BetterYou Vitamin D spray (DLux 3000)
  • 1 sachet of Altrient Liposomal Vitamin C

After I found out about the pregnancy I continued with the exact same regime apart from the Vitamin C which I stopped and I added BetterYou DLux Pregnancy.

BetterYou DLux Pregnancy Spray

Each dose (4 sprays) of BetterYou DLux Pregnancy offers the folic acid required and 1000 IU of Vitamin D alongside some other vitamins and minerals you need on a daily basis. It’s also a tasty alternative to tablets (minty and sweet) DLuxPregnancy by passes the digestive system offering the fastest and most effective delivery mechanism available.

Because it’s so easy to take I didn’t have to worry about not ingesting enough vitamins. I took it every day with breakfast or lunch and as it’s in a small spray bottle I could carry it with me everywhere.

Bio-Kult Pro-Cyan Triple Action Formula – 45 capsules

Probiotics are essential to ensure your body digest and assimilates all the vitamins and minerals from your food daily. This one also has cranberry extract which can help with UTI. We always recommend probiotics to everybody that starts on their own health journey and as your hormones fluctuate so much when you are pregnant, your gut flora can be affected, hence why using a probiotic is very important. Probiotics promote healthy gastrointestinal function, which aids in relieving the very common problems that pregnant women face such as constipation, diarrhoea, heartburn and indigestion. In addition, probiotics can help increase the immune system of a baby even in pregnancy.

Bio-Kult Pro-Cyan Triple Action Formula is specifically designed with women in mind. 1 in 3 women suffer from urinary tract infections (UTIs) and 25% have recurring episodes. With 36mg of cranberry extract per dose, probiotics and Vitamin A, Bio-Kult Pro-Cyan Triple Action Formula – 45 caps is a potent natural supplement.
