SunWarrior Classic PLUS Organic Protein

We all know protein is important for those who are very active, muscle building and training. Yet it is an essential part of the diet for all of us. The building blocks of protein are called amino acids of which 9 are essential, meaning they can’t be created by our bodies and therefore need to be obtained from the food we eat.

Protein should account for approximately 30% of our daily food intake for everyday function and repair of the body. If you are very active, training, over-coming illness, repairing from surgery or trauma then you will need even more approx. 50-60%.

These are just a few of the roles protein plays in our bodies:

  • Growth and repair of hair and skin.
  • Make-up of enzymes and hormones.
  • Building-blocks of muscle, cartilage and bone

SunWarrior Proteins

SunWarrior proteins are a popular choice here both with the customers and our selves and it is clear to see why:

  • 100% plant-based, alkaline-forming, and provides a complete, balanced array of essential amino acids
  • Gluten free, non-GMO, and FREE of chemicals, acids and solvents
  • Sunwarrior Classic Protein is hypoallergenic and suitable for anyone - young or old, male or female - not just vegan or vegetarian lifestyles

SunWarrior Classic PLUS

SunWarrior PLUS builds on their Classic protein, with the added benefit of being Certified Organic and the amino acid balancing effects of peas, chia seeds, quinoa, and amaranth. This superfood combination still relies heavily on the gentle nature of whole-grain brown rice, but with a hefty dose of the strength that has made the Warrior Blend so popular.

A little bit more about why these plant proteins are so good:

Rice Protein:

Sprouted brown rice provides plenty of protein and fibre while being gentle on the digestive system and kind to those with allergies (hypoallergenic). It is a complete and balanced protein for muscle; building, repair, and maintenance, and rich in Lysine which is often missing in plant-based proteins.

Pea Protein:

Protein from peas satisfies all essential amino acid requirements, as they are comparable to egg and milk proteins, so a great vegan/vegetarian choice!

Quinoa:

Highly valued by the Incan civilization for good reason - quinoa is rich in protein, fibre, calcium, B vitamins, iron and many other nutrients. This grain-like seed helps balance out the amino acid profile without worry over gluten. Quinoa protein also contains beneficial saponins that stimulate immune function and act as antioxidants.

Chia:

Chia seeds are the tiny nutrient-dense powerhouses rich in protein, vitamins, minerals, and omega fatty acids, they also contain both soluble and insoluble fibre for prebiotic effects.

Amaranth:

Amaranth was used as a grain by the Aztecs, it has a similar nutrient profile to quinoa and the same yield as rice, making it a sustainable alternative to other grains and seeds. Amaranth contains a good amount of Lysine (an amino acid often lacking in a lot of plant-foods).

So if you are looking for an organic, easily digestible and ‘good for the whole family’ protein you should definitely give SunWarrior Classic PLUS a try.

Try mixing it with water or dairy free milk, a banana and a spoon of nut butter of your choice for a balanced and delicious breakfast, snack or treat. It is yummy!
