Summer Essentials - what to pack on a day out
Posted by Marie-Eve Maitland on 29th Jun 2021
Here are a few items that we carry with us when we go out... We hope this helps! You may use only a few of them or none at all but you will certainly appreciate the value of carrying them "just in case".
This "5 Essentials" list was put together by our team - we had one of our brainstorming session - and we also looked at what WE had in our bags.
1. Water
Ditch the plastic and go for a reusable water bottle. In the summer, go for an insulated bottle. It will keep your drink very cold
**I once only put ice cubes in an insulated bottle and they were still frozen a few hours later - much to my little one's delight.
Try Cheeki or Bulletproof Insulated Water Bottle
2. Sun lotion - Especially if you are out between 11am and 3pm
Vitamin D from the sun is important but as most of us work indoor, if we don't protect ourselves when the sun is at its strongest we will burn.
Also, try to get 15 minutes of lotion free sun exposure before 10.30am if you can.

3. Digestive Enzymes
If you are going to eat out, having some type of digestive enzymes with you can help keep you feel at your best. Here is what we recommend, depending on your discomfort
- Heartburn & indigestion: Enzymedica Fast Acting Betaine HCl
- Acid discomfort & heartburn : Enzymedica Chewable Acid Soothe
- If you have issues with Bean & pulses, look for Enzymedica BeanAssist, for Gluten intolerance GlutenEase and finally if it's dairy, ease your discomfort with Enzymedica Lacto.
Each of these formulations contains different enzymes that will help you digest certain foods.
**It's worth looking at the cause of digestive discomfort and seeing how it can possibly be treated. But for a quick solution, supplementing your diet with some enzymes are a good bet and having them on hand when you are out is recommended.
4. Antibacterial Gel/Spray
The best way to prevent the spread of infections and decrease the risk of getting sick is by washing your hands with plain soap and water but when you are out and about, you might not have access to either. Using a good quality, non toxic gel/spray is a must in our opition.

5. Oregano Oil
A popular go to, especially when going to a crowded place such as shops, gyms and the city centre. Oregano contains compounds that have powerful antioxidant properties and the carvacrol it contains may help fight bacteria so oregano oil is a natural antibiotic and does what it can to help your immune system strong.

And finally remember a face mask, your wallet and a bag to carry it all.
