Let's face it, supplements and vitamins are not the only answer to improving ones health. Just like you won't get muscles by just taking protein powder, or get hydrated by filling your bottle with water and then not drinking it. No supplements, vitamins and lotions will make things better unless you are ready to work for it. Here are a few tips we have recommended over the years. And have implemented ourselves in our day to day life that have had a beneficial effect on our health & wellness.

1. Drink up!

Aim for 2 litres of filtered water (if possible), however to be more accurate look on the web for a water consumption calculator.

2. Sleepy time

Try to go to bed at an optimal time to ensure you get at least 6-8 hours sleep. A good quality sleep will positively impact your concentration and productivity, can help boost your immunity, maintain a healthy weight and finally will help improve your mood. A few tips for a restful snooze:

  • No coffee after 3pm
  • Take a hot bath 90 minutes before heading to bed
  • No screens!!
  • Leave your phone in a different room

3. Eat the rainbow

When food shopping aim for variety with the vegetables & fruits and ensure you get a few colours in there. Foods that are high in vitamins such as aubergines, berries, papaya, asparagus, peppers, tomatoes and kale.

4. Fibers or fibres?

Either way you spell it, increase the amount you consume Why? Fibers will help to promote and healthy weight and also bulk up your digestive tract which in turns with help to you know. Foods that are high in fibers:

5. I like to move it, move it

By this, we don't mean, joining the gym and running every day. What we recommend is making sure that you get moving every day. Here are some example:

  • Walking your 10K steps as often as you can
  • Cycling instead of driving
  • Follow a 10 minutes yoga sequence on You Tub
  • Taking the bus early and walking to rest of the way

6. Every little helps...

Finally supplements and only there to supplement a good diet. 3 supplement I recommend is  a probiotic, a multivitamin and omega oil (fish, krill or vegan). I also recommend a vitamin D but only when the sun is not shining as it is right now.

Most importantly, before anything, identify the change you wish to make and their possible benefits, Once that is done and how you can see how you will implement these changes, take action.
